Helene Black is an artist, educator and co-founder of the interdisciplinary NGO NeMe (www.neme.org). Since 1992, she lives and works in Limassol, Cyprus.

From 1998 until 2013, she focused on the exploration of the inconstancy of memory and questioning the forms in which history, place and language are proposed.

Her works from 2014 to present focuses on reprocessing colonialism and about revealing the ingrained and often overlooked contradictions when there was no room for public debate. Not only were political and social histories displaced, but environments, ecologies were ruined, degraded, or exploited.
